Interesting Small Business CNN Money Article

I thought this article on CNN Money was really interesting and insightful about small business and how getting a big contract, (whether it's Wal-Mart or Starbucks), isn't necessarily the best thing for your business.

More Half-Marathon Milestones

I just found out that I ran the 5th fastest time for our running club, Somerville Road Runners, which qualified me to be part of the Male Open Team- who came 4th overall. I don't win anything, but it's a great result and I'm really proud of what I've accomplished.

4. Somerville Road Runners
1:14:19 1:31:46 1:32:59 1:34:21 1:36:25 = 7:29:50
Gregory Picklesimer, James Moberg, Michael Hanson, Jonathan Su, Sam Smith

I can run faster than you AND still drink more beer than you.

My First Half Marathon

On Sunday, I ran my first half marathon race, the BAA Boston Half Marathon. I was hoping for a finish somewhere between 1:40 and 1:45. I finished 1:36:25, blowing away my estimates. I ran a pace of 7:21 min miles, and felt pretty good until about mile 10 (why is it that the last 3rd of any race is so hard?).

Overall Place: 336 / 3706
Place in Gender: 242 / 1651
Place in 30-34 Age Division: 94 / 626

I've attached a screenshot of the results from my GPS watch below.

CNN

I really wish there was an option on CNN to filter out stories about:

1. Politics
2. The current state of the market.

But then I wonder if there would be any news at all?

I Hate Politics

At the moment everyone is all fired up about this Sarah Palin Vice President thing. I hate it. I hate hearing about her and everyone else in this election. This is a special year for me, as I actually have an election in New Zealand and USA, and I can vote on both of them. Let me tell you, I can't wait for them both to be over.

This year, I'm exercising my right to choose - to not vote. I officially abstain.

By not voting I am not choosing someone who will lie to me before and after the election. Therefore, because I didn't choose them, it's not my fault if they suck or lie to us. It's your fault for voting for them.

The bottom line? It doesn't matter who you vote for. They are all crooks and will all lie to you in the end.

I AM a GIANT taco (for halloween)

For the first time in my adult life, I think I'm actually looking forward to Halloween...
